2008. Rauschenberg’s limitless imagination allowed him to create objects of beauty out of often-dismissed odds and ends, and, established him as one of the most influential artist of his generation. His creative process and Combines approach are huge inspirations to me. So, in the summer of 2003, I dedicated a design for my Draftsmen Project to his memory. The design’s foundation is a photograph of Rauschenberg in his early 30s, as he overlooks a screen print.
